Reshuffle of district administration is on the cards to ensure proper implementation of welfare and development schemes. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed officials of the key departments to submit a report on the status of each scheme and the hurdles that have been coming in the way execution of programs at the grassroots level, including administrative problems.

Hyderabad: Reshuffle of district administration is on the cards to ensure proper implementation of welfare and development schemes. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed officials of the key departments to submit a report on the status of each scheme and the hurdles that have been coming in the way execution of programs at the grassroots level, including administrative problems.

He is learnt to have expressed his unhappiness over the slow progress in implementing the welfare schemes. According to sources, the Chief Minister at a recent review meeting observed that reorganisation of districts was carried out with the aim of taking the administration to the doorstep of the people, but the feedback he got was that the implementation of the schemes has not picked up pace.

He is said to be of the opinion that unless a reshuffle of officials is carried out, situation may not improve. He is said to have emphasised on the need for zero tolerance against corruption and plugging loopholes, so that the welfare schemes reach the real beneficiaries.

Top officials told The Hans India that during a meeting with the Secretaries of important departments on the eve of completion of three year of TRS rule, KCR, who reviewed the overall performance of all the important departments, felt that administration at the district, mandal and village level needed to be restructured to suit the present day requirements.

For instance, after the creation of new districts, the role of Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Departments, Education and Health and Medical department have become more important and they need to show faster results.
The establishment of community based Gurukulams in all mandals, more number pension and health related schemes, including KCR kits and Arogyalaxmi has put huge responsibility on the officials.

For the effective implementation of the schemes, the Chief Minister asked the heads of departments to assess the situation and come up with a report on how to speed up the implementation of the programmes. He said, if necessary, some new recruitment of personnel could be taken up and responsibility to implement the schemes should be given to select officials and action should be taken if they fail to discharge their duties effectively. He is also learnt to have stressed on the need to set up district level monitoring cells in every department to assist the Collectors in discharging duties effectively.
