Minister Srinivas Yadav holds review meet on the event with senior officials

​Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would lay foundation stone for the parking area for the Balkampet Yellamma temple during the three-day Kalyanotsavam which will begin on June 26.

At a review meeting with senior officials of various departments held here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the event would start on June 26, Kalyanotsavam to the deity would be held on the second day and chariot festival will be organised on the third day.

He said that after the formation of new State, the government has been taking all steps for the celebration of the various festivals and devotees have been attending the festivals in large numbers. He said during the three-day event of the Kalyanotsavam, about 80,000 devotees from Telangana as well as other States are expected to attend.

Srinivas Yadav asked officials of different departments to work in coordination with each other to make the event a success. As part of the arrangements, he asked to stock one lakh drinking water packets for distribution to the devotees.

Police department has been asked to take steps to divert traffic during the three-day event so as to ensure that there would not be any traffic jams around the temple.

The Minister asked the GHMC to ensure that there would not be over flow of drainage around the temple area. He emphasised on maintenance of sanitation and clearance of the garbage in the vacant space adjacent to the temple, as it is allocated for constructing a parking lot.

Further, installing CCTV cameras for effective supervision of the event, the minister asked the Transco officials to keep mobile transformers and generators on standby for uninterrupted power supply during the festival. Besides, LCD screens would be installed for devotees to view the Kalyanotsavam. Cultural events too would be organised on the occasion.

Later, the Minister released a poster of Yellamma Thalli Kalyanostavam. GHMC Central Zonal Commissioner Hari Chandana, temple EO Sharma, RDO Chandrakala, Endowment Deputy Commissioner Narasimha Rao, Director- Culture Harikrishna and senior officials from water works, fire, road and buildings, Transco, revenue and other departments attended the meeting.
