Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Wednesday took into custody the three accused in the Miyapur land scam after the Metropolitan Sessions Judge granted three-day police custody.The three accused – Kukatpally Sub-Registrar Rachakonda Srinivasa Rao, Trinity Infra Ventures Limited directors P S Parthasarathy and PVS Sharma – were earlier arrested for illegal registration of 693 acres of government land worth over Rs 10,000 crore in a bid to grab the government lands.

Earlier, the lower court refused to grant police custody following which the police approached MSJ court. The court allowed the plea of the police with a condition that the accused must be questioned in the presence of their advocates and they should be provided with medical aid if required.

Following the order, the police took the accused into their custody from the prison at 10.30 am on Wednesday. The investigation team will have to hand over the accused back to the prison at 10.30 am on June 10.The investigators hope to elicit vital information from the accused on the involvement of P S Prasad, politicians and other officials in the huge scandal.
