Hyderabad: The condition of Mubeen Ahmed (26), who was shot at a California Gas Station on June 4 and received grievous injury in his abdomen, is said to be stable; though he is still not able to communicate.

Mubeen, a student pursuing his masters at Silicon Valley University in California, was shot down by robbers posing as customers at a gas station where he was working part-time. A single bullet went through his abdomen. He was rushed to hospital, where he is recuperating.

Mubeen, a native of Sangareddy, had gone to US in 2015 to pursue his masters degree. His parents have settled down in Mehdipatnam. Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar and Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy have been in touch with the US government officials and the doctors treating Mubeen in California.

It is learnt that regular updates were being sought from the officials in California by these people’s representatives. No arrests have been made yet and FBI officers are not divulging details of the incident, as the investigation is still in progress, said Aslam Sultan, Mubeen’s uncle. Mubeen’s parents visited US Consulate in Hyderabad on Friday, where arrangements were made for their visas.
