Man rapes physically challenged tribal girl in Khammam, villagers pass judgement of Rs 40,000 as compensation
In a shocking incident, a physically challenged tribal girl was raped and impregnated by a man in Khammam district.
In a shocking incident, a physically challenged tribal girl was raped and impregnated by a man in Khammam district.
However, when the accused refused to marry the girl, the Errabanjara village heads in Kallur mandal then decided to perform the marriage of the victim with the accused.
However, when the parents of the accused rejected the judgement, the village heads fixed a compensation of Rs 40,000 to be paid to the victim.
Identified as Chenna Kesavulu of the same village, agreed to the decision and took the girl to get the baby aborted. Two months after abortion, the victim died of health complications.
The victim, Wankudoth Rani's parents lodged a complaint against the 12 persons including Kesavulu. The police informed that action would also be taken against the doctors who performed the abortion.
