The battle between the Telugu states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the power supply has intensified. With the AP government cutting off the power supply to Telangana over unpaid bills, the same has been followed and now both the states have decided to stop power supply to each other from Saturday midnight.

With the AP government cutting off the power supply to Telangana over unpaid bills, the same has been followed and now both the states have decided to stop power supply to each other from Saturday midnight.

As per the AP Reorganisation Act, the power generation has to be shared between the two states 53.89% to Telangana and 46% to AP resulting in TS getting 1513 MW and AP gets 1054 MW.

However, with both the states stopping the power supply to one another, the impact is to be examined.

D Prabhakar Rao, TSgenco & Transco chairman and managing director informed that Telangana won't be facing impact if AP doesn't share power instead will be a benefit.
