Congress will hold Rahul’s meet on Osmania University campus: Jagga Reddy
Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is harassing Osmania University students, Sangareddy former MLA T Jagga Reddy on Sunday demanded that restrictions imposed on public meetings on the campus be withdrawn.
Hyderabad: Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is harassing Osmania University students, Sangareddy former MLA T Jagga Reddy on Sunday demanded that restrictions imposed on public meetings on the campus be withdrawn.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here, Jagga Reddy said the students would not tolerate such restrictions. The State government issued a G.O. and banned meetings on the campus only after Congress party announced that AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi would hold a public meeting on the campus, he said.
Making it clear that the Congress party would hold a meeting on the campus under the leadership of TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy at any cost, Jagga Reddy said the party would support the students protesting against the ban. He took the Chief Minister to task for forgetting that the students of Osmania University had played a pivotal role during the agitation for statehood.
