Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N V S Reddy directed the HMRL engineers to complete the storm water drain works, de-silting of drains etc. immediately for smooth traffic flow along the Metro corridors.

The HMR MD on Tuesday inspected water stagnation points on some Metro Rail stretches and the monsoon related works being carried out by HMR from Khairatabad Metro station to MGBS on corridor-I and from Paradise to Ameerpet station on corridor-III.

He wanted the paver block works to be completed on Ashoka Hotel side of Lakdikapul station and asked them to take up beautification works. He asked the officials to take up table drains and storm water drain works from Nizam Club to Police Control Room on the lefthand side and take up architectural plans for beautification of the area.

He said that the storm water drain works should be expedited from Nampally station to EkMinar junction. He asked the L&T officials to remove construction material at Gandhi Bhavan and OMC stations.

To avoid water stagnation and to facilitate better traffic movement from Putlibowli junction to Rangmahal junction, the old storm water drain would be restored and cross drain would be constructed.

He asked the L&T to reduce the barricading and lay BT/CC road on both sides of the road. He asked them to have proper barricading at the excavation site near Begumpet Metro Rail station.

He also asked the officials to take up re-carpeting and restoration of carriage way near the petrol pump at Prakashnagar Metro station on Begumpet road.

Noticing heaps of construction material dumped by the private builder at an under construction commercial complex near Rangmahal junction, which is blocking the storm water drain and causing inundation of the road, he asked the GHMC Town Planning officials and the Traffic Police to get the construction material removed immediately and impose penalty on the private builder.
