Telangana Government has decided to set up four multi-specialty hospitals at the four corners of Hyderabad at the cost of Rs 1,000 crore with each hospital to be allotted Rs 250 crore.

Keeping in view of the increasing flow of patients and to improve the treatment facility, the government has come with this plan to elevate the city's existing healthcare setup.

Currently, officials are looking out for suitable lands at various locations in the zone to set up the hospitals which will be equipped with 750 beds - 500 of which will be prioritized for speciality care and 250 for mother and child care.

This move has also been initiated to ease the pressure off the existing government hospitals - Gandhi Hospital and Osmania General Hospital which have recorded a 10-15% rise in patient footfalls over the last year. As of now, these facilities have a capacity of 1,500 beds each but are catering to 2,000 in-patients and close to 5,000 outpatients daily.
