Hyderabad: Alleging that the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was involved in the Miyapur land scam, Telangana BJP demanded that the government recommend for CBI inquiry into the case.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the party spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said the statement of the Chief Minister on the land scam is misleading. KCR’s statement that “Not an inch of land is transferred and not a rupee of the government is lost” highlights his desperation to wriggle out of the quick sand his party and his government is sinking into day by day.

Rao said Scams of this size do not disappear into thin air, because CM wishes. BJP wonders why the CM wants this scam not to be probed by a central agency.

If even an inch of land was not transferred illegally, why has his government arrested 5 directors of Gold Stone group? Why did it raid over 70 registrar offices, why did it suspend and transfer over 30 sub registrars? Why did the government arrest Sub Registrar Srinivas Rao?

How is it, that raids on Srinivas Rao home is leading up to 14 crores of unaccounted cash? Why did it arrest MLC Deepak Reddy? How is it, that TRS secretary general K Keshava Rao registered 38 acres of land in Dandu Mylaram and why did this government cancel that registration?, he questioned.

Thousands of crores were changed hands, hundreds of farmers were forced into distress sale, thousands of crores as loans were raised using these dubious registration documents and hence there is need for a CBI probe, he said. Similar demand was made by party leaders N Indrasena Reddy and Nagam Janardhan Reddy.
