Woman commits suicide, a day later sub-inspector shoots himself

Only a day after a woman employee of a photo studio committed suicide, a sub-inspector from Kukunoorpally police station too ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon in his residence in Siddipet.

The deceased, identified as P Prabhakar Reddy was found lying dead on a chair at his house in the police quarters by his colleagues on Wednesday with his service pistol found near his body.

His relatives alleged that Prabhakar Reddy had taken the extreme step due to the harassment from his seniors.

The woman, Arusumilli Vijayalakshmi, alias Sirisha who worked as a beautician and HR manager in RJ Photography in Jubilee Hills, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her office on Tuesday following which a case of suspicious death was registered. When the news broke on Wednesday morning, TV channels portrayed the death of Sirisha as highly suspicious and the relatives of Prabhakar allege that he killed himself after watching the news.

Police officials stated that Prabhakar had made sexual advances to the woman, a day before her death.
