Patancheru (Sangareddy): Sangareddy district administration has completed rectifying revenue records in 100 villages across the district. Four villages in Patancheru constituency were declared by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao as ‘100 per cent revenue litigation-free’ on Monday during the distribution of Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Laxmi cheques at the GMR Convention Centre in Patancheru, for which he was the chief guest.

Lauding the efficiency of District Collector Manicka Raj Kannan, Harish Rao said 2,000 corrections were made in the revenue records in just four villages in Patancheru constituency so that people didn’t have to worry about running around the Revenue Departments to transfer the ownership of land in case of death of the land owner or for any other reason.

He also appreciated the officials of the district Revenue Department for expediting the issue of 48,000 birth and death certificates to the doorsteps of the people, thereby saving time, energy and money for the

people. Addressing the gathering, the District Collector said that there were many instances where land documents were under the name of one person and revenue records were showing the names of some others as the rightful owner in the past.

These discrepancies were corrected as part of a painstaking effort undertaken by the revenue officials, he added. He said that the real objective behind the reorganisation of districts was to bring administration closer to the people.

V Bhoopal Reddy, MLC, said that revenue records of 1,652 land owners were cleared in the four villages under Patancheru constituency during the process.

Later, cheques worth Rs 2, 83,11,712 were distributed to the mothers of 540 brides under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes.

These beneficiaries included even those who got married after March 31, 2017, as the amount under the schemes was increased from Rs 51,000 to Rs 75,116. Till now, 4,808 beneficiaries availed financial assistance worth Rs 22 crore as part of the schemes.

Earlier during the day, Harish Rao also inaugurated a high-level bridge on Patancheru-Malkapur Road, thus, making it easy for the villagers of 20-25 villages under Narsapur and Patancheru constituencies to commute freely.

Earlier, when the bridge was not constructed, people had to travel on a road which used to get submerged under a nala, making it impossible for travelling. The bridge has been constructed by Roads & Buildings Department at a cost of Rs 3 crore.
