KCR announces single licencing policy in agriculture markets

The Telangana government on Tuesday has announced it's decision to have a single licencing policy in agriculture markets in the state.

Giving effect to the policy, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed the the proposal. Traders who owned a licence at a particular market were not able to purchase goods in another market which resulted in less competition in the agriculture markets.

Farmers were deprived of a higher price for their produce. However, the new policy allows competition among traders to purchase the goods.
