Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has built 45 more paying rooms. The Health Minister C Laxma Reddy will inaugurate the new facility on Thursday. Soon another 45 paying rooms will be added and the hospital will have 90 such rooms, according to officials.

Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has built 45 more paying rooms. The Health Minister C Laxma Reddy will inaugurate the new facility on Thursday. Soon another 45 paying rooms will be added and the hospital will have 90 such rooms, according to officials.

The 45 new rooms have come up in a three storyed building. Each floor will have 15 rooms. According to the officials, the State government has taken up renovation work in NIMS and in last three years the bed strength has gone up from 1,140 to 1,460.

The number of outpatient wing, which was between 1,400 and 1,500, has now gone up to 2,500. The number of inpatients, which was between 80 and 90, has now gone up to 135. The officials said that the number of transplant procedures too have also increased in the hospital.

The old buildings in the hospital are also being renovated. The outpatient block and rooms are being modernised in the old buildings.The new buildings will have facilities like solar hot water, LED bulbs, TV, A/C, two beds, side lockers, etc. The hospital will soon have a restaurant for the attendants of the patients.
