Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao and former Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy were arrested on Thursday at Tank Bund after they had staged a sit-in protest against GST on agricultural products.
Hanumantha Rao, along with other party leaders, staged protest near Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund against the GST which will soon be implemented by the Union government. Former whip Jayaprakash Reddy joined the protest to express solidarity.
Meanwhile, the police rushed to the spot and arrested the leaders stating that there was no permission to hold any public protest on Tank Bund.
