The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed supplementary charge sheet before the designated court in connection with the Hyderabad ISIS Module case. The NIA charged Mohammed Irfan aka Abu Jafar, listed as accused number nine in the case, with carrying out unlawful activities in conspiracy with other eight accused already charge sheeted in the case. 

​Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed supplementary charge sheet before the designated court in connection with the Hyderabad ISIS Module case. The NIA charged Mohammed Irfan aka Abu Jafar, listed as accused number nine in the case, with carrying out unlawful activities in conspiracy with other eight accused already charge sheeted in the case.

The case was originally registered in June 2016. According to the charge sheet, Irfan was arrested in January 2017 for his role in the terror module. Not only did he identify a safe house for the terrorist gang, but Irfan had collected and transported explosive precursors along with another accused Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani from a location on the outskirts of Pochampally village in Nalgonda district on the instructions of their overseas handler.

Irfan had also visited Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh to send co-ordinates of the spot through Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani and to collect explosive material in pursuance of the conspiracy.

He took an oath of allegiance to Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed Caliph of the ISIS, in the presence of other accused in the case. The charge sheet further said that the electronic gadgets seized from Irfan establish his radicalisation towards ISIS ideology and he was in possession of material that guides terror operatives in carrying out attacks.

The charge sheet also said that the investigation with respect to the ISIS handlers operating from abroad was still on.
