Hyderabad: To revive its political fortunes before 2019 elections, TDP Telangana unit has come out with a proposal to float a ‘Maha Kutami’ (grand alliance) with various social organisations.

The party leaders are holding talks with SC,ST, BC and Minority organisations besides other community associations fighting on their demands. All the leaders of the organizations will be roped into active politics and will be fielded as candidates on behalf of the grand alliance.

The party is holding talks with the leaders of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), Dr BR Ambedkar Youth Association, Jyothirao Phule BC organisation , and Muslim Minority Rights Struggle Committee. TDP is also holding discussions with Gouda, Yadava, Nayi Brahmana, Viswa Karma and Dudekula Sanghams.

All these social organisations have strong network and cadre in every mandal in the State. In the recent times, the organisations intensified their activities and are holding regular meetings and dharnas on various problems faced by their respective communities.

After the mass exodus of senior leaders to the ruling TRS, TDP leaders said the party is facing leadership crisis in every district. The cadre was also staying away from the party activities as the chances of the revival of Telugu Desam are bleak in Telangana.

The only option left before the TDP is to try and unite the forces struggling in the state. TDP state unit president L Ramana said his party is making efforts to bring all the organisations under a single roof and fight for their rights on behalf of TDP in the next two years.

During the elections, the leaders of the organisations would be promoted as prospectus candidates in the Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies. Talks are in progress with the leaders of various organisation leaders and a decision towards creating Maha Kutami would be taken soon and the grand alliance would take a shape next year, he said.
