Hyderabad: Telangana BJLP leader G Kishan Reddyalleged that the TRS government did nothing for the city during the last three years except for giving statements like making Hyderabad as Istanbul and cities like in Europe and America.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday at the party office, Kishan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was building castles in the air. He said that it has been three years since the TRS had formed government; but nothing concrete has been done for the Hyderabad city which has 33 per cent population of the State.

“Many tall promises were made during the GHMC elections like making city like Istanbul and cities of Europe and America, but in reality, nothing has happened. The government has failed to provide basic amenities like roads to the people of the city,” he said.

The BJP leader flayed the government for delaying the start of Metro Rail and for not taking up the works in Old city. “Because of the Chief Minister’s adamant attitude and faulty decisions, the pace of Metro Rail works have been slowed down resulting in an additional burden of Rs 3,000 crore.

Not even a single pillar has been constructed in Old city. Who will pay for this,” he asked. He said that the Chief Minister had planned of changing the Metro Rail alignment but later changed his decision leading to delay in works.

Kishan Reddy questioned as to why the DDRC meetings were not convened for the Hyderabad district. He alleged that except for the police department, no other department has been functioning well in the government.

The BJP leader said that NDA presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind would be in the city on July 4. Kovind would take part in the meeting with the BJP and TDP leaders at Harita Plaza in the morning and later with the TRS public representatives at Jalavihar.
