The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has handed over 180 kilometre State highways and 90 kilometre national highways to Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited ( HRDCL).
​Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has handed over 180 kilometre State highways and 90 kilometre national highways to Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited ( HRDCL).
The road corporation will operate and maintain roads from here on. The HRDCL, to be provided with corpus of 1,500 crore, has been incorporated under the Companies Act with the Government providing 500 crore as its initial contribution.
The HRDCL would be entrusted with maintenance of 180 km of roads under the purview of the Roads & Buildings departments and 90 kilometre national highways initially and this would be scaled up in the years to come.
