New Delhi: Congress MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, here on Wednesday, criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for neglecting farm sector completely in the State.

Speaking to the media here, he said the Chief Minister should immediately take up the issue of non-cooperation of banks in extending loans to the farmers with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

He recalled the comments of Finance Minister E Rajender to this effect and said it was high time that the Chief Minister sorted out the issue with the help of the Centre.

KCRshould also note that insurance was not being given to the farmers despite crop loss and several agencies were stalling the process. Lakhs of farmers were facing a crisis in the State and yet there was no move on the part of the government to come to their rescue.

The Chief Minister must also speak to Arun Jaitley on the issue of GST burden on handloom sector and on the fertilisers and ensure that these two sectors did not fall under the purview of the GST to rescue lakhs of families of the handloom weavers and farmers, he said.

The Telangana Congress Committee would also seek a probe into the Miyapur land scam by the CBI at its scheduled meeting with the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, he said.

He also recalled the services of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao and urged the government to confer Bharata Ratna award on him.
