Medchal: Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali has directed the revenue officials to seek mutation in application records, to maintain land records in an infallible manner and take steps to safeguard the assigned forest lands in Malkajgiri district from encroachments.

In a meeting with the officials at the Collectorate here on Thursday, he admitted that there was corruption in the sub-registrar’s offices and asked the officials to ensure that such incidents do not recur. He asked the revenue officials and sub-registrar’s to work in coordination and directed the Tahsildars and RDOs to inspect the sub-registrar’s office records periodically.

He wanted the officials to take steps to immediately resolve court cases on land disputes. On shortage of staff in the Revenue department, vehicles for RDOs and Tahsildars and increased allocations to the Revenue department, he said that he would discuss the problems with the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

However, he assured them that he would take up recruitment in the department and will strive to increase allocations. He said the permissions for layouts should be given with the permission of the HMDA only. He asked the officials to keep land records updated.

He asked them to ensure that there are no pending applications from people seeking benefits under the Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak and Apathbandhu schemes.

He lauded the District Collector M V Reddy for taking steps to allot lands to various organisations. Stating that smaller districts were created for greater administrative convenience, he asked the officials to bring their problems to his notice.

M V Reddy told the Minister that the administration is taking steps to safeguard the government lands and disciplinary action is being initiated against the village Sarpanches and panchayat secretaries if they are found promoting illegal lay-outs.

The District Collector sought allocation of funds to enable the administration to pay compensation to the victims under the SC and ST atrocities cases.

He told the Deputy CM that 250 acres have been allotted for double bedroom houses and 60 acres for use as dumping yards in villages.
