Services of 40 Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) workers regularised
The State government on Thursday regularised the services of 40 contract labourers of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) following a Supreme Court directive. Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy handed over the TS GENCO regularisation letters to 40 contract labourers, who have been working since 1996, at a programme in the Secretariat here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The State government on Thursday regularised the services of 40 contract labourers of Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) following a Supreme Court directive. Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy handed over the TS GENCO regularisation letters to 40 contract labourers, who have been working since 1996, at a programme in the Secretariat here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that some 150 persons were working as contract labourers in the KTPS out of which, the services of 100 contract labourers were regularised and absorbed in view of the AP government order No. 41/96, in the light of the erstwhile AP government G.O. Ms. No. 41 dated September 23 and the remaining 50 were denied the absorption. Therefore, the aggrieved workers approached the Labour Tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court, he said.
