Hyderabad: CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said his party concerned over the midnight session of parliament as it does not want to be a part to the Centre’s move of going gaga over lunching of GST.

Addressing the media here on Friday, he said the agriculture sector of Telangana will have to bear an additional burden to the tune of an estimated Rs 1,700 crore. The overall burden of the GST would be eventually come out following its implementation.

He clarified that the party had only extended its support in principle along with expressing its reservations over certain issues and wanted the centre to resolve the problems before its implementation but the government was introducing it in haste without making proper arrangements.

He said that discussion on GST has been around for about last 20 years. “There is nothing new to go gaga over its launch. The special session is only intended to promote the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister ArunJaitley,” he said.
