Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) which has been looking for ways and means to generate revenue through different methods has now decided to lease out the office space in BusBhavantoa majorcorporate house.

The TSRTC officials had laid a new pavement near the canteen side of Bus Bhavan especially for the use of personnel working in A Block. According to a senior official, the corporation had decided to lease out the A Block as most part of the building is vacant following the move of APSRTC to Amravati.

Presently, the A Block houses the chambers of TSRTC Chairman, PF, and Pension operations wings. Sources said that the chamber of the Chairman would be shifted to B Block, the other wings to MG Bus station, and the chambers of officials to Jubilee Bus Station.

The four storied Bus Bhavan was constructed to house the office of the undivided APSRTC, but after bifurcation, the A Block was used by the Andhra Pradesh management when the two corporations got separated for administrative convenience. With AP administration shifting to Vijayawada, the building became vacant.

Sources said that the TSRTC is contemplating to offer share in the Bus Bhavan to the Andhra Pradesh in the form of money since the structure comes under joint property. The department of personnel and training under the Ministry of Home Affairs had recently made it clear that only the Bus Bhavan would fall under the category of joint property and it should be shared, said sources.

Official sources said that the Reliance Company had approached the management for using the office space. Sources also said that the company representatives have raised doubts on movement of a fire tender in case of fire accident.

The officials informed the company representatives that there was another passage from the main entrance and another at the rear side of the Bhavan. Sources said that there were few more companies, which approached TSRTC for leasing the office space and a decision would be taken after discussions with the
Minister.
