Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday stayed the recruitment process of Group II posts in Telangana for a period of four weeks. It directed the Telangana State Public Service Commission to file a counter-affidavit explaining the repeated mistakes in successive answer keys for the main examinations released by it within two weeks.

Justice M S Ramachandra Rao gave this interim direction while hearing a petition moved by Narasimhudu of Mahbubnagar and 17 others from various districts seeking cancellation of the notification issued for filling up 1032 Group II posts in Telangana and holding of fresh examination.

Appearing for the petitioners, senior counsel Surender Rao argued that a primary key of the main examination was released by the TSPSC on December 1 inviting objections from the candidates.

Taking the objections into account, a final key was released on January 11, making it clear that no further changes would be accepted. However, the TSPSC entertained objections by certain candidates and effected further changes to the key and released again on April 13.

Despite these exercises, there are 14 to 17 answers that are not correct, he said. The judge ordered a stay on the selection process for a period of four weeks and directed the TSPSC to file the counter-affidavit within two weeks.
