BJP demands action on illegal slaughter houses
BJP floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly G Kishan Reddy demanded the State government to order CBI probe into the functioning of illegal slaughter houses on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
​Hyderabad: BJP floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly G Kishan Reddy demanded the State government to order CBI probe into the functioning of illegal slaughter houses on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Kishan Reddy alleges that more than 50 illegal slaughter houses are functioning in the city and on its outskirts. However, he said, the State government was not taking any action against them.
Only three slaughter houses, including the Chengicherla slaughter house, are legal. He also asked government to implement ban on slaughtering of cows, calves and bulls. Kishan Reddy added more than 10,000 big cattle are being slaughtered every day in three legal slaughter houses.
The number is huge in illegal slaughter houses. There 56.74 lakh big cattle in the State as per 2013 census. However, due to massive slaughtering, their population is getting reduced by nearly 10% every year.
