Hyderabad HC stays hike of ticket prices in first week of film release

The Hyderabad High Court has stayed the verdict which enabled the film exhibitors to hike the ticket prices in the first week of the movie's release.

Last year, a theatre in Karimnagar, Durga Raja Kalamandir was allowed to increase in the price of tickets during the first week after receiving the orders from single judge.

Challenging it, Cine Prekshakula Viniyogadarula Sangham filed a petition in the court pointing that the theater management had ignored several other rules and had got the orders.

The verdict was given by a bench comprising of chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice T Rajani who even directed the correspondents to file counter-affidavits adding that the order of the single judge is not applicable only to this specified theater.
