Hyderabad: The Telangana State Wakf Board, which met here on Wednesday, has decided to take over Anwar-ul-Uloom College under its direct management. It also resolved to take up the development of 11 Wakf properties on its own instead of contracting out works.
The meeting, held at Haj House, presided over by Wakf Chairman Mohammed Saleem, constituted a committee comprising former Vice-Chancellor of Telangana University Akbar Ali Khan and Wakf Board members Tafseer Iqbal, Sufia Begum, Zakir Hussain Jaweed, Waheed Ahmed Advocate and Hyder Agha. Wakf Board.
Chief Executive Officer Abdul Mannan Farooqui is the convener of the committee. The committee is entrusted with the responsibility of working out modalities for the takeover of the Anwar-ul-Uloom College.
The Board resolved to develop Wakf properties and seek special funds from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. It was also decided that Wakf properties should not be given to businesses like wine shops, etc., and those already given would be taken back.
The term of present managing committee of Dargah Yousufain will end on July 23. Therefore, the Board has decided to first take the Dargah into direct management.
It also resolved to remove shops located on Dargah premises within 15 days. The Board has also constituted 14 Towliath Committees, two Registration Committees and five Committees to increase the rents of Wakf properties.
The case of Lanco Hills was also discussed during the meeting and it was decided that the Chief Minister would be requested to make Revenue Department withdraw case against the Wakf Board in the Supreme Court. The next meeting of Wakf Board will be held on July 20 to discuss development activities.
