The Golden Peacock Award, presented to those with excellent corporate management was presented to Danfoss India at Hyderabad International Convention Centre in the presence of Supreme Court Justice Kurain Joseph and other several dignitaries on July 8 for its manufacturing facility at Chennai which is also rated platinum by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

​Hyderabad: The Golden Peacock Award, presented to those with excellent corporate management was presented to Danfoss India at Hyderabad International Convention Centre in the presence of Supreme Court Justice Kurain Joseph and other several dignitaries on July 8 for its manufacturing facility at Chennai which is also rated platinum by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

Danfoss India is an industry focused on climate and energy efficient solutions, company’s works towards sustainable development via its energy-efficient products, green initiatives at the Oragadam campus and its ongoing pan India Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme driving sustainability are some the key contributing factors for the award.

Commenting on the occasion, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said, “We are extremely honored to have received the Golden Peacock recognition that reiterates our vision towards Engineering Tomorrow’s India in a sustainable manner. I would like to acknowledge my team who has always been focused on sustainable development of our environment, within and outside our campus and this award is definitely a source of motivation for us to aspire and achieve greater heights towards creating a better tomorrow.”

Danfoss manufacturing facility at Oragadam, Chennai was recently conferred with a LEED Platinum rated certification, because of its green and sustainable setup, which includes a 1 Mega Watt (MW) solar power plant, a bio-gas plant, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Waste Water Treatment (WWT) plant, Rain Water Harvesting pond, energy efficient fixtures, carbon foot print reduction initiatives, extensive green cover at Campus, etc.

Through its India CSR Programme, the company also is constantly addressing challenges faced in the areas of education, livelihood, health and environment and raising awareness on Environment and Sustainability in the local communities where they operate. This year, the awards were distributed amidst a gathering of business leaders from across India during Institute Of Directors (IOD’s) ‘19th World Congress on Environment Management’.
