Hyderabad: Backward Classes Welfare Association on Saturday resolved to mount pressure on the Union and State governments to address the long pending issues including providing 50 per cent reservation to BCs in the legislative bodies at State and Central level.

The association national President R Krishnaiah held a meeting with the Telangana BC Welfare Association and discussed several issues.

Krishnaiah demanded two Telugu State governments to pursue the issue of sending BCs to Assembly and Parliament on nomination basis as their representation was far below in the proportionate to the population in the country.

The Association was also demanding to increase BC reservation in government employment to 56 per cent from 27 per cent, removal creamy layer for OBCs, BC Sub Plan with Rs one lakh crore budget at Centre and waiver of fee for BC students studying in IIT and IIM institution.
