New Delhi: About 40 pilgrims stranded on their way from Amarnath yatra between Anantnag and Srinagar were brought back to the Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday and sent back to Hyderabad by the Bhavan authorities.

The pilgrims who were from Kamareddy, Armoor and Karimangar met with an accident on Thursday when a cylinder being carried by them in their bus accidentally exploded. One of them had died and two others were seriously injured and were being treated at the Amarnath Shrine Board Medicare Facility in Anantnag, authorities said.

Those who reached the Bhawan here were put on flights this evening and were sent back, the officials said. Speaking to the media before their departure, the pilgrims claimed there was a bomb attack on their vehicle which the army and civilian authorities of Anantnag and Srinagar denied.
