​Hyderabad: ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers may come under the purview of Provident Fund (PF), said Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya here on Monday.

Speaking to media persons, Dattatreya said in addition to State Bank of India and other nationalised banks, the private sector banks were also allowed to handle the PF funds. With the zero transaction charges, about Rs 350 crore were saved, he said.

The EPF pensioners can receive their pensions either through banks or post offices by enrolling digitally with the Jeevan Pramaan web portal, he said. Dattatreya also said that as many as 2.76 crore of saplings are to be planted in three years under the Haritha Haram programme in State.

However, the response is not as desired, he said. Providing the tree guardians is also important, he added. Active participation of people and non-governmental organisations in this programme is necessary to achieve good result.

The quantum of investment in Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) for the Financial Year 2017-18 would approximately be Rs 22,000 crore. As on June 30, 2017, total amount invested is Rs 24,980 crore, the Union Minister said.

The market value being Rs 28,115 crore, the absolute return is 12.55 per cent as on date, he added. Those workers who are not registered for the Social Security cover were given an opportunity from January 2017 to June 2017, to register their names for the same, the Minister said.
