Alleging that the Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya was humiliated by the police officials by not following the protocol during his visit to Ujjaini Mahankali temple in the city, BJP Floor Leader G Kishan Reddy on Monday demanded the government to order an inquiry into the incident and punish those responsible for it.

​Hyderabad: Alleging that the Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya was humiliated by the police officials by not following the protocol during his visit to Ujjaini Mahankali temple in the city, BJP Floor Leader G Kishan Reddy on Monday demanded the government to order an inquiry into the incident and punish those responsible for it.

In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Kishan Reddy said that Dattatreya was a local MP and the only Union minister from the State. Kishan Reddy said that the police officials did not allow the vehicle of the Union Minister to the main entrance of the temple evenafter Dattatreya pleadedwith them that his wife was unwell. They were told to go by walk from Ramgopalpet police station.However, the vehicle of Nizamabad MP K Kavithawas allowed to come till the main entrance of the temple, he added.

Kishan Reddy said that if it was a norm not to allow any vehicle, it was understandable. But after a while, the vehicles of all the Ministers and MPs of TRS were allowed right up to the premises of the temple. The BJP leader said that all this happened right in presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumathi.
