Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Monday took the issue with Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya over the delay in establishing ESI hospital in Jagtial.

The TRS vehemently denied Dattatreya’s statement that the delay in establishing the ESI hospital at Jagtial because the State government had failed to appeal to the Centre in writing for the hospital.

The TRS statement said Nizamabad MP K Kavitha had written a letter to the Ministry of Labour, requesting for setting up of ESI hospital at Korutla and Jagtial town.

The letter written by Kavitha said, “Korutla and Jagtial towns have sizable population of industrial workforce and it would be of much benefit for the entire region if ESI hospitals are set up in both these places.”

She even received a reply, saying that the matter was being looked into.Dattatreya, at a media conference here on Monday, in response to a question, said he had seen Nizamabad MP K Kavitha’s statement that she would fight for the hospital. “It seems that Kavitha is still in agitation mode similar to that of Telangana agitation,” he said. He sought to allay the fears by saying there was no need for any fight.

“If she comes to my office with an application, I will offer her a cup of tea and her work will be done,” he stated. The Minister claimed that he had not received any application regarding the ESI hospital for beedi workers in Jagtial and added that he had sanctioned 50-bedded hospital in Nizamabad even before Kavitha had asked for.
