KCR planted saplings at Mid-Manair dam and kick started the programme. In the third phase of Haritha Haram, the Telangana government plans to plant 40 crore saplings on a massive scale.

This year, they are planning to plant at least 50 lakh saplings in nearly 30,000 private and public institutions in the state. All the Members of Parliament (MPs), legislators and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party leaders are participating in the programme.

IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, meanwhile planted saplings at botanical gardens in Hyderabad. With Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) planning to plant one crore saplings in Hyderabad this year, the government is taking initiative with Haritha Haaram programme.

Saplings are being planted Moosarambagh area and under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits.
