DGP inaugurates Haritha Haram at Manchal PS
Director General of Police, Anurag Sharma, on Wednesday said that it was important to protect the saplings planted as part of Haritha Haram programme.
Hyderabad: Director General of Police, Anurag Sharma, on Wednesday said that it was important to protect the saplings planted as part of Haritha Haram programme.
Speaking after inaugurating the third phase of Haritha Haram programme at Manchal police station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, he said the police department had played a major role in plantation and protection ever since the flagship programme was launched three years ago.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Director General of Police, T Krishna Prasad said that the government was on a mission mode to increase the forest area from 24 per cent to 33 per cent and police department has been playing a crucial role in this.
Later, Anurag Sharma planted bamboo sapling in the State police headquarters and inaugurated rain water harvest pit. All the senior officials were present on the occasion.
