Hyderabad: An eighth-class student in the government-run Minority Welfare Residential School at the TSIIC Colony at Jeedimetla here committed suicide by hanging in his hostel room on Wednesday.

According to the Jeedimetla police, the 12-year-old Fareeduddin, resident of Venkatrami Reddy Nagar at Gandhinagar, was found hanging. The police swung into action after receiving a complaint from the school authorities.

The Clues Team was pressed into service. The body of the body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, relatives of the student expressed the suspicion that there could be a foul play in the death of the boy. The relatives alleged that the boy’s body bore injury marks, indicating that student could be brutally beaten up.

They questioned the action on the part of the police in shifting the body to mortuary before intimating the death to the boy’s parents.
