Vice-President releases Shabbir Ali’s book on Muslim quota
The Vice-President, Mahammad Hamid Ansari, here on Wednesday released Mohammed Ali Shabbir\'s book \"The Quest for Muslim Reservation\" and reiterated that Muslims had a right to seek reservations.
New Delhi: The Vice-President, Mahammad Hamid Ansari, here on Wednesday released Mohammed Ali Shabbir's book "The Quest for Muslim Reservation" and reiterated that Muslims had a right to seek reservations.
Senior Congress leaders, Ghulam Nabi Azad, leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ahmed Patel and Digvijay Singh (former MPs) and Salman Khursheed (former Minister), graced the function.
While they complimented Shabbir Ali for his meticulous work in tracing and compiling various moves of the governments' in providing reservations for Muslims, they also recalled former Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's efforts to provide 4 per cent reservations for Muslims and the way he successfully implemented the same.
The reservation became instrumental in providing higher ed ucation free of cost to several Muslim youth.
