Congress delegation to meet Governor today over farmers' issues
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will lead a delegation of Congress leaders to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Saturday seeking assistance for farmers.
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will lead a delegation of Congress leaders to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Saturday seeking assistance for farmers.
The Congress party would urge the Governor to direct State Government to ensure availability of cash in all rural banks to enable farmers take up sowing operations in ongoing Kharif season.
According to Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana farmers were not having access to cash and credit facility due to the negligence of State Government. Therefore, the Governor would be urged to intervene into the matter to resolve this issue.
Further, the Congress wants cash payments to be made to NREGS workers through Post Offices in their areas. It also wants State Government to immediately clear pending dues of fourth instalment of crop loan waiver scheme.
