The District Administration is planning to hold a drive to complete voter registration for individuals who have crossed 18 years of age. A special drive on July 14, 15, 18 and 19 would be held in all gram panchayats, colleges and hostels specifically focussing on youth to get them registered for voting.

At a meeting held with District Panchayatraj Officer, Welfare Officers, Zaheerabad Municipal Commissioner, representatives of government and private educational institutions at the District Collectorate on Thursday, District Revenue Officer Raghuram Sharma has instructed heads of institutions to collect information about students between 18 and 21 years of age who are not yet registered themselves as voters and encourage them to get registered at their areas of residence.
He has also directed the officials to take assistance from MPDOs, Sarpanchs and Panchayat Secretaries to go from door to door with voter lists and complete the process.
