Vikarabad: Prohibition and Excise Department, at a programme held at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Friday, rendered financial aid to those who gave up illicit liquor business.

Transport Minister Mahender Reddy was present at the programmeas a chief guest and distributed Rs 3.34 lakh to 168 beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said as many as 7,886, who used to be in illicit liquor business, would be provided rehabilitation.

Local legislator Sanjeeva Rao, Excise Deputy Commissioner Yasin Qureshi and Superintendent of Police Annapurna were among those present.
