Hyderabad: Taken aback by some of the top people in the film Industry getting notices in connection with the drug racket, the Movie Artistes Association said that they would take stringent action against those who were found to be involved in
the case.

Addressing media on Friday, MAA president Sivaji Raja said that so far only some people belonging to the Industry had
got notices. Notices do not mean that they are involved in it. The MAA president said drug menace in the city is not a new phenomena. It had been there for a very long time.

But since some prominent names had figured, it has now become sensational. He said there was need to take effective steps to curb the menace and the MAA would extend its full support in that direction.

He said there may be some individuals who may be using drugs. That should be seen as individual problem and the Industry should not be blamed for it. The Telugu Film Industry does not support any such act, he added.
