​Hyderabad: Not satisfied with the apology tendered by TRS MLA B Shankar Naik, a delegation of Telangana IAS officers Association on Friday demanded a high-level probe by a woman officer of IG rank into the incident of alleged misbehaviour by the MLA with District Collector Dr Preethi Meena on Wednesday during Haritha Haram programme.

Led by association president B P Acharya, they met Chief Secretary S P Singh in Secretariat and submitted a memorandum. The association recalled some of the past incidents as well where some of the public representatives had insulted some officers and demanded that a grievances cell be constituted to handle all such cases. The Chief Secretary heard the issue and thanked all for showing their solidarity with Dr Preethi Meena.

He said that the government would take action as per law. He also said that women should be respected in society and the government will setup institutional mechanism to prevent such incidents in future by setting up a grievance redressal cell.

The association also demanded that necessary legal assistance be provided to the Collector. Acharya thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the Chief Secretary for prompt action. Principal Secretary to CM Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary to GAD Adhar Sinha, Secretary Finance Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other women IAS Officers were also present.
