Around 2000 auto trolley drivers were delighted to know that their annual insurance was reduced to Rs 6,710 from Rs 18,500. Under the Swachh Hyderabad scheme, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) distributed 2000 auto trolleys to unemployed youth of the city free of cost. 

​Hyderabad: Around 2000 auto trolley drivers were delighted to know that their annual insurance was reduced to Rs 6,710 from Rs 18,500. Under the Swachh Hyderabad scheme, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) distributed 2000 auto trolleys to unemployed youth of the city free of cost.

The autos are used for transportation aand to segregate wet and dry garbage. The GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said auto trolleys were purchased with Rs 77.60 crore and as part of the insurance premium, the drivers were supposed to pay Rs 20.10 crore per annum to the banks. However, the drivers did not find the insurance amount feasible as they were paid a mere Rs 50 per household, every month.
