KTR asks GHMC to take road repair works on war footing
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Wednesday instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to take up road repairing works on war footing.
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Wednesday instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to take up road repairing works on war footing.
He asked the officials to not follow conventional procedures in road repairing works and release up to Rs 5 lakh immediately for road repair works. He asked the civic body officials to fill the potholes with BT Emulsion and Shellmac cold mix, which will have better impact than conventional BT mix.
Following the instruction of Rama Rao, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy directed officials to take up road repair works without obstructing the vehicular traffic. The Commissioner held an emergency review meeting with chief engineers Ziauddin, Suresh Kumar, R Sridhar, Devender Reddy, and chief city planner.
He asked the officials to take up road repair works immediately on a war-footing as the roads were damaged due to incessant rain and directed them to repair the pothole riddled roads.
Earlier, the Commissioner along with the officials of the Central Zone inspected some areas near Raj Bhavan and Necklace Road. He also inspected the ongoing road restoration works in various areas of the Central Zone.
