Osmania University officials and faculty are gearing up for the next visit of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) by organising sensitisation programmes in the university and its colleges. 

Hyderabad: Osmania University officials and faculty are gearing up for the next visit of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) by organising sensitisation programmes in the university and its colleges.

The officials will visit the university and its colleges on August 17, 18 and 19. With the new grading system in place, the vice-chancellor of OU Prof S Ramchandram is eyeing the A++ grade.

While interacting with the faculty members of B Ed colleges, the VC said the grading system is very important for university to maintain its standard. OU has always been awarded ‘A’ distinction, however the pattern of awarding has changed this time.

Grade A has been sub-categorised into A+ and A++. In order to qualify for the A++ category the university should score above 3.75 out of 4 CGPA. A+ is awarded between 3.5 and 3.75 while A is awarded between 3 and 3.5, the VC said.

Prof Ramachandram said there should be collective effort from everyone and they need to raise the level of quality and it is very important for faculty members to maintain all records, documentation and their course files.

He said, "Students involvement is also required and all the labs in every department should be functional while maintaining hygiene and cleanliness." He also visited Arts, Science, Commerce and Business Management, Engineering and Law colleges for the sensitisation programmes. Further he will visit the physical education college and technology college.
