Hyderabad: Demanding that the State government take over Bhoodhan lands, which are being encroached by others, an all-party meeting asked the government to implement three-acre land to Dalits scheme and double-bedroom scheme.

All India Sarva Seva Sangh-Telangana State Sarvodaya Mandali organised the all-party meeting at Somajiguda Press Club here on Tuesday. Leaders of the CPI, the CPM and several voluntary organisations participated in the meeting.

However, leaders from the BJP, the Congress, the Telugu Desam Party and MIM failed to attend the meeting. Telangana State Sarvodaya Mandali president Vedire Aravind Reddy presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to tell why he was not initiating steps to protect Bhoodhan lands.

He alleged that encroachers constructed engineering colleges, function halls, farmhouses and dairy farms, and the Chief Minister knew it very well.

“The Chief Minister’s family members themselves involved in land deals and hence He is maintaining silence on Bhoodan land encroachments,” he said and warned that they would erect flags in the lands being encroached in case the government failed to take over the lands and construct double-bedroom houses.

CPM leader Sarampally Malla Reddy, Sarvseva Sangh national president Mahadev, national general secretary Shaik Hussain, Sarvodaya Mandal national leader B Prasad, State president V Aravind Reddy, general secretary R Shankar and others participated in the meeting.
