Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce the Bill for increasing the number of seats in Telangana Legislative Assembly in the ongoing monsoon session of the Parliament.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce the Bill for increasing the number of seats in Telangana Legislative Assembly in the ongoing monsoon session of the Parliament.

KCR met the Prime Minister at New Delhi today and also urged him to handover the defence land in Secunderabad Cantonment area to State Government to enable construction of two multi-level flyovers. He said that the State Govt was ready to provide alternate land to defence authorities. He said that the State Government proposes to construct a new Secretariat building at Bison Grounds in Secunderabad. He also requested PM Modi to ensure fulfillment of assurances given to Telangana in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister thanked KCR for supporting the NDA candidates for President and Vice-President's posts.

KCR was accompanied with TRS MPs Jithender Reddy and B. Vinod Kumar and Chief Advisor Dr. Rajiv Sharma.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and sought GST exemptions for Beedi and Granite industries. Similarly, he said the works pertaining to Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya should be given total exemption from GST. He also requested Jaitley to release more funds for various projects being executed by State Government.

KCR also met NDA's candidate for Vice-President's post M. Venkaiah Naidu and congratulated him on the candidature.
