Hyderabad: The State IT Department and Communication Department have asked the media not to make sensation the issue of some drug peddlers selling drugs to employees of IT companies.
Reacting to the arrest of Dutch national Mike Kaminga on Wednesday, the Principal Secretary IT & Communication, Jayesh Ranjan said that there are over four lakh employees in IT sector.
There may be about 20 or 25 people addicted to drugs. The government, he said, has a list of the IT companies whose employees are alleged to be drug addicts. It has already asked the managements of such companies to take up counselling for such employees and told them to keep a close watch to curb the menace. “Don’t try to blow it out of proportion,” he added.
