Hyderabad: Violating the directions of High Court and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party workers erected as many as 41 hoardings during the foundation ceremony of 2BHK project at Jiyaguda. As the party men did not include the photos of local MLA and MP, the AIMIM party workers staged a protest at the venue.

TRS activists erect billboards; MIM makes a hue and cry over missing pictures of its leaders; prevents Deputy Chief Minister’s from entering the venue

The AIMIM workers protested as the flexies did not include the photos of Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

The MIM workers even restricted the entry of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali to the venue.
Mahmood Ali then intervened and asked the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials to remove all the flexies and hoardings prior to Rama Rao’s arrival. The civic body official told The Hans India that they will take stringent action against the violators and file cases under Defacement Act.

Meanwhile, Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for construction for 840 double bedroom units at a cost of Rs 71.40 crore at Jiyaguda. Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao said the TRS government is committed to complete the housing project to help the poor live in complete respect.

Each double bedroom house will cost about Rs 30 lakh in open market, the Minister said. He said besides taking steps on law and order in the city, the government has taken steps for resolving power and drinking water problems.

"As per plan we will construct 2.65 lakh of houses each in 560 sq ft area at Rs 8.5 lakh cost and complete the works in one year from now. So far, tenders are completed for about 68,000 houses and rest of 32,000 houses will be finalised soon", he said.

Rama Rao said the poor will get the housing facility free of cost and asked them to not give any bribes in this regard. He took a dig at the previous government for failing to provide housing facility for the poor and ignoring the plight of the poor and farmers. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is determined to better the lives of the poor, farmers and deprived class and is implementing various welfare schemes, he claimed.

Unlike other States, Telangana is spending Rs 40,000 crore on welfare schemes including Rs 5,300 crore for pensions being offered to 40 lakh beneficiaries in the State. Mahmood Ali said the Telangana government is focusing on the welfare of the poor and marginal class. The government will complete two-bedroom houses on time and give them to the beneficiaries,
he added.
